Wow. Thanks to wretched COVID19, this is a very changed July 4th.
A wonderful parade that brought immense joy to me as a child and as an adult, has been canceled.
The wondrous display of fireworks has been called off.
Tanglewood, the summer home of the Boston Symphony Orchestra, has canceled all concerts on the sprawling green lawns under the stars.
Everything has changed.
Everything has been silenced because of COVID19.
But we can feel love within our hearts.
We can celebrate quietly and know that better days are coming.
Keep safe. Wear masks. Sanitize your hands.
God bless each of you this Fourth of July and all the days that follow.
Know that God is with us.
WHAT ARE YOU DOING THIS HOLIDAY?

God bless you too, and long may He bless the USA. As I read, I have not been sent off to war, just sent to the sofa. That lifts my spirits a bit.
I was with my son, daughter in law and three grandsons We had a bbq in the front yard with masks but it was great to see them and be with them if only for a little while. I also got a haircut while I was there. YAY.
We didn't do much for sure - it was different - but I sure am glad I am an American.
We had a wonderful barbecue. Our son-in-law Zach made some delight meats for us including trip tip and ribs and steak. We aren't fans of the huge displays as the crowds aren't our thing. When the city displays were going on we could see three different cities from our backyard where we are content. Although their governor forbid people to set off fireworks LA was lite up like a Christmas tree. They are illegal here too but they still sell them. Hmmmm......My friend in California said she thought fireworks were buy one get 6,500,000 FREE! They heard plenty of fireworks late into the night. No matter what, I will always be proud to have been born an American. xo
This photo is wonderful, Susan. Yes, a bit different 4th of July this year. I just went over Nel's house - it was a very small gathering, but got to see Mia for awhile. I know how much you love that parade every year. So sorry it was canceled. I think that was wise though. I heard fireworks in the neighborhood though. All in all, it was a nice 4th of July.
