A lot of times, when coming across something pretty for the house, the object ends up in a drawer or cabinet since where to display it becomes unclear.
That's a doggone shame.
Pretty things should be visible, even if it's only to one's self.
Such is the case with the glass window with black-rimmed panes that is the top portion of the kitchen door.
Some people would probably prefer a clean look with nothing hanging. Not me.
The window here is decorated with some of my favorite hearts, a gorgeous Swarovski crystal, a rose-bordered plastic sheet, hand-painted by one of my artistic sisters, and a garland of paper stars made by a dear friend.
There are miniature wind chimes to one side, too, with a tiny bird house at the top.
They tingle when the door is opened or closed.
Each to one's own is the word when it comes to decorating.
DO YOU DISPLAY THINGS YOU LOVE IN YOUR SPACE?

Very pretty Susan. You are quite a decorator but I'm not...ha ha.
You do have very beautiful items Susan - loved the lead glass!
I know what you mean. I put things in a closet or drawer and promptly forget about them. I just pulled some things out the other day that I totally forgot I had! I love your door idea, especially the hand painted flowers and leaded glass.
Your door is wonderful. How nice to hear the little wind chime every time you come home. Beautiful lead glass.
Our homes are an expression of ourselves and you make it obvious that you love your home. xo Laura
Beautiful, Susan! Yes, we need to display the things we love! Thinking about you, and sending you hugs! xoxo Nellie
You have some lovely items to display. No doubt treasures from your thrift store scouting. Displaying things we hold dear is a vital part of our self-expression, creative expression that God himself placed within us.
Sending heart hugs,
Brenda xo
