Holy Figures from the Philippines

A few years ago, at an estate sale at Blantyre, an old castle that is also a luxury hotel, in Western Massachusetts, I found a manger scene that took my breath away.

Each figure is painted beautifully and attired in majestically adorned outfits that glimmer and sparkle.

This is no ordinary set.

The figures were made in the Philippines, a person helping to run the sale told me.

At one time, an  owner of the castle used to give sets of these figures to guests as gifts, she said.

Actually, I shared these beautiful figures on this blog in the past.

However, I decided to write about them again because, while unpacking holiday decorations in the attic, they popped up.

An angel-filled candle-holder has been set in front of the figures.

Kudos to the artisans who made these lovely reminders of the Savior's birth.

DO MANGER SCENES HELP YOU TO REMEMBER THE REAL REASON CHRISTMAS IS CELEBRATED?

That is a beautiful set. I love manger scenes and put out at least three of them at my own house during Christmas.

This is one of the most lovely Nativity sets I've seen. Mary is so beautiful. They have pretty colors swirled in each piece. This is a treasure, and I know you will keep it always. : )
