Never Enough Santas

Collections come and go, depending on where in life we find ourselves.

There are some collections that stay with us throughout most of our lives.

A Santa Claus collection, for me, is one of these.

Even though I swore there were enough replicas of the ol' fella, if a really special one (or two) catch my eye, they have to join their many Santa cousins.

That happened recently in a Salvation Army Thrift Store about an hour away from where we live.

The rather regal wooden Santa shown at the top of this post, and to the left, has this written on the bottom:

"St. Nicholas, Bishop of Myra of the Roman Empire of Asia Minor."

He HAD to come home with me since he's such a handsome fellow, don't you think?

The other Santa's inscription reads "Old Father Christmas ---- English."

Both of the wooden Santas must have belonged to the same person who probably gave up her collection. Her name is also on the bottom of each figure.

I love the "new" Santas who have now, officially, joined my collection.

DO YOU HAVE LIFE-LONG COLLECTIONS?

What delightful Santas, and colorful too. Yes, it seems that they may belong to the same person. The only collection I have at Christmastime is snow globes. I love them, but only have about four. But I put them out every year.

I hope you had a very nice Thanksgiving, Susan. It's Christmastime!

Great finds for a lovely collection. Santas around the world look so different so collecting could definitely be limitless. :) Have a nice weekend.
