Old-Fashioned Lamp Shades Are the Best

Like everything else in the world, one's choice of lamp shades is up to the individual.

Some people have very modern taste.

Mine is definitely old-fashioned.

The Victorian styles appeal to me greatly.

The shade with the paper hearts showing through is many years old.

My daughter made the hearts when she was quite young and she just had her 38th birthday!

That shade traveled with us from Arizona to New England.

It was originally purchased in a Cracker Barrel Gift Shop.

The lamp at the top of the post came from a Salvation Army thrift Store and the little lamp with the baubles hanging all around its edge was a Goodwill thrift store purchase.

WHAT IS YOUR STYLE OF LAMP SHADE?

Good Evening, Susan. I love the warm glow from all of your lamps. That is so special that you have hearts that your daughter made on the one shade. My mother and I both loved.love Victorian style. I have been looking for a floor lamp in antique shops lately but have not found the ONE yet!

Oh Susan, your lamp with the roses is sure pretty. I have been wanting a table lamp lately for the living room. I like unique items, so that is what I would be looking for. I love the stained glass lamps back in the day too. But I would also like a white lamp shade with a pretty base. The paper hearts made by your daughter when she was young are so special. Happy Birthday to your dear daughter, Susan. Where does the time go?

Have a peaceful weekend.

I found a lovely purple shade, a bit smaller than yours, with fringe and beads. I love it in the guest room. And I love yours, too.

You've got some lovely ones. All of ours are from Ikea not because of their style, but because they give us the light we need for reading (and for me, cross-stitching). :)
