Going to the Flea Market While on Vacation

Vacations are wonderful, if one is lucky enough to have one, and gets to see new places.

Flea markets are great fun, too, and filled with hundreds of different kinds of merchandise.

Combine the two and it's cause for celebration.

Recently, my daughter and son-in-law and their family invited me to join them on a vacation to Cape Cod.

It was great fun having delicious sea food, bobbing in the bay waters that are actually warm, and enjoying a total change-of-scene.

Attending the Wellfleet Flea Market in Eastham, Massachusetts, was a blast, too.

There were beautiful baskets, probably from Africa. They were gorgeous but pricey.

Colorful tin figures that were also tea light holders were bright and cheerful. They cost $20 each.

While it was fun looking at all the items, they remained at the market, rather than come home with me.

Suffice to say that just about everything on the Cape is expensive but it's still a great place to visit.

It was wonderful to have a total change of scene.

DO YOU LOOK FOR SPECIFIC ITEMS AT FLEA MARKETS OR JUST BUY THINGS THAT APPEAL TO YOU AT THE MOMENT?

How wonderful to be able to have a vacation on Cape Cod!! That’s one of my favorite places to go! I would be tempted to shop at a flea market, though would probably leave things behind unless they were really, really special! I’d love to go to the Brimfield Antique Market sometime, though. Certain I’d find something to bring home with me there!

Oh, I love flea markets, Susan. You can always find something interesting and unique there. Those baskets are really nice. I bet you had a fun time just browsing even though you didn't buy anything. The tea light holders sound very pretty. I'm glad you got to spend special time with your daughter and son-in-law. : )
