Let's Go Fly a Kite

Remember the joyful song, "Let's Go Fly a Kite" in the musical "Mary Poppins?" (Check out several versions on YouTube.)

Well, while on vacation at the Cape this month, the grands did just that!

Their parents brought wonderfully colorful and whimsical kites.

One warm windy day, the kites did, indeed, go "up to the highest height."

Amid laughter and little hearts filled with hope, the kites got "sent soaring."

Butterfly,  fairy, and a colorful triangle-of-sorts kites filled the sky above our little section of the ocean.

The kite-flying turned out to be an exhilarating way to spend a few vacation hours.

HAVE YOU FLOWN A KITE?

My son used to live in a windy part of California and I did fly a kite with my grandsons many times. It's fun at the ocean due to the breeze too. Glad they had that adventure. I love the song too.

That butterfly kite is gorgeous. There's a group here that does kite flying at one of the beach spots when the weather is nice. I haven't flown one since my boys were little.

Susan, me and my son used to fly kites often when he was a little boy. When we visited my Mom, that is one of the things we did, and I'll always remember it. That butterfly and fairy kites are delightful. How fun that the kids got to enjoy flying kites, and on the beach with so much room to run and enjoy! Yes, I do remember the song "Let's go fly a kite." Your day at the ocean watching the kids flying their kites sounds like a memorable one.

We saw many kites flying in San Francisco. It was awesome. Grandson was flying a huge kite at the beach and it crashed on a hotel roof into an aircondidtioner when he was ten. What a fright.
