During the long, snowy, winter days, there's never a loss of chores to do at home.
Most are necessary but kind of boring, right?
Well, one way to handle the unpleasant tasks is to reward one's self with doing something fun.
For me, it's dipping into my dollhouse hobby.
Like the big house, there's always something to do, fix, or add to the dollhouses around here.
Recently, renovation of a china cabinet in rough shape was the reward for completing some chores.
The shelves had all turned yellow with age and panels were even missing "glass" entirely.
As miniaturists know, we stash all kinds of stuff in bags, throughout every room in the house.
The bag shown below contains bits and pieces of nice plastic that can double as glass for a "someday" project.
That day finally came. I cut around the plastic that was placed beneath the yellowed pieces.
Some furniture polish also helped shine the finish of the unit that has very pretty curvy styled legs.
It's done and now waiting for bitty knick knack items but that will be a project for another day.
WHAT HOBBY DO YOU WORK ON THAT GIVES YOU JOY?

Singing and playing piano...learning new music for choir and reading in my kindle are my hobbies. I am sure you enjoy working on your many doll houses. Good job Susan.
You did a great job on the china cabinet for the doll house. It's so cute, and I had a full size one very much like it at one time. The plastic you double up for the glass shelves is a creative idea. And a little polish goes a long way. Love the legs on this little china cabinet.
The days of Winter are still here, and it's very cold this week. We had a light snow yesterday, but I always love seeing it.
