It's a wonderful feeling to know someone thought of you, isn't it?
Such little gestures can flourish in our hearts in very huge ways.
So every holiday, Valentine's Day included, it is with a heart filled with love that cards are sent to some family members and friends.
Cards received go on the door in the front hallway via sticky tape that is folded over into doubled pieces.
The nearby table holds a pretty pink doily (because I'm old-fashioned) and a heart-shaped glass container filled with, well, hearts of course!
Several of the cards on the door have sweet kitties on them.
Also there are a couple of big hearts.
Some of the cards on the door are from past years.
My late husband was a gentle, kind, and very romantic man who never missed celebrating a Valentine's Day in our long marriage.
Now his cards from the past make me smile and cry at the same time and its comforting to know I saved them!
WHAT, IF ANYTHING, WAS YOUR FAVORITE VALENTINE'S DAY GIFT OR CARD?

So sweet that you keep your husband's old Valentine cards, Susan. You can display them every year and think of him.
Well, the girls got me such wonderful gifts, so I can't choose, but I will tell you that Jess sent me a stuffed animal....remember Lamb Chop? She had her when she was little, and through the years gave her away. She was so bummed that she gave her away, and has been looking for another. She finally found it again, and sent me one! She's so cute. I'm so glad you had a sweet Valentine's Day, Susan. And I bet it's nice for you when you pass by all the pretty cards on the door.

*I love your pink doily. I guess I'm a bit old fashioned too. : )
I have fourteen Valentines on my dining room table. I have dark chocolate/raspberry hearts on my kitchen table. I am happy to hear you were remembered on Valentine's Day.
It is the small things that bring such confort and joy. I will do almost anything for dark chocolate, but those confections make me feel like going on a binge. Hope you are well.
