Saying Goodbye.....

Goodbyes are never easy.

Whether it's to a person or a place or a house, it's hard to say goodbye.

My late hubs and I bought our front entry Colonial home 18 years ago. I loved it upon first glance.

No day since has gone by without my thanking my lucky stars to live in such a lovely place.

The pink fireplace made the decision to buy it fairly easy.  Now, it's making saying goodbye very difficult.

But keeping up a large home with many maintenance issues is no easy task once one's partner goes to the other side of life.

So the front entry colonial will soon have another owner.

This past week was spent working on files in the window-filled home office.

A deep sadness hung in the air.

Part of saying goodbye to a house is remembering all the wonderful times spent there.

I lifted my cell phone camera to the windows and snapped shots of the splendorous trees in their autumn finery for all of my sweet blog peeps to see.

Looking down on the backyard lawn, all the projects and hard work my late husband did came to mind.

With great difficulty, I enjoyed the splendor of the moment and felt immense gratitude for the many years spent in this home.

Soon the new owner will be here and a new era will begin for her and for me.

Things change and we must adjust.

HAVE YOU HAD TO SAY GOODBYE TO A HOME YOU LOVED?

I know this was a difficult thing. As you know, I've had to sell four homes through the years, and one of them I really loved. It was the smaller home, but a charming one. And it seems that each time, I downsized a little bit more. Such pretty views outside your window, Susan. And those golden Fall trees are beautiful. Yes, things change, and we just have to try to keep up with it all. Sending a warm hug filled with comfort and love as you say good-bye to your beloved home that has so many sweet memories of your husband.

It's hard to say goodbye to someplace that was filled with love and care. My heart goes out to you and I hope you find peace in your new surroundings.

Awwww...I am sad for this time in your life. Your house has given you so much joy, I can only imagine just how hard it's been to pack and say the final goodbyes. I'm so glad to see the photos you took. Thank you for thinking of us, Susan. Blessings to the new and former owner of this beautiful house. The good Lord bless you both in this new season of your lives.

Heart hugs, Brenda xo
