Put Decorating Objects to Use...

Seeing how other people decorate their spaces is exciting.

The best part is getting ideas for one's own environment.

My daughter put battery-operated lights in an amber-colored glass candy dish, purchased in Tucson, Arizona.

It looked great and gave me an idea, as well.

As regular readers of this blog know, one of my collections that gives me great joy is cranberry glass.

 Pink is my favorite color.

A very large glass vase-of-sorts ended up on a coffee table.

It just didn't fit with any of the other pieces of the pretty pink glass.

BOING. |There was a battery-operated set of white lights hanging out in a shopping bag.

Putting the two together made a nice centerpiece for the coffee table, no money involved!   Yippah!

The funny part of this story is that all photos had to be re-taken when a hole in the round doily showed up.

Swirled the doily around so the hole is no longer front and center. It is, after all, a very old doily.

Still, the combo of the white lights inside the big pink vase makes it cozy and pretty.

What a creative idea to put the white lights inside your cranberry vase. I just bought some twinkly lights to put around my dresser. They really do add something, don't they? I know how much you love your cranberry pieces, Susan. And so glad this little centerpiece brings you some cozy to your home. My sister used to have many doilies, but since she downsized, not sure if she has many of them left. They really are treasures, especially the old ones coming from loved ones.

I hope you have sweet November days, Susan.

Nice touch with the lights in a vase. I do not have any battery operated lights or candles but I'm going to order some online very soon. Good idea...so pretty.

Hello! I came across your site from another blog friend. I love to decorate and I too enjoy seeing and getting new ideas from friends and family. The twinkly lights in your vase are very pretty and much safer than an open candle. And, I couldn't see the hole in your doily at all, (chuckle!) Nice to meet you! Gloria
