Things are not always as they seem.
Last Christmas, gifts from my niece, Sarah, included a fragrant candle and a beautiful floral glass container in which to put it.
It could easily be called a stunner.
Also tucked in the gift bag was a white "crocheted" cross.
When picked up, however, the cross was hard plastic.
It was still beautiful but definitely not crocheted.
It made me think of other things in life.
Sometimes they look very different from their reality.
Like a difficult situation may turn into something really fabulous, providing we are willing to wait patiently for the transformation.
God often uses difficult situations to teach us something, perhaps patience or the degree of our faithfulness or trust in Him.
The white non-crocheted cross is now a permanent part of the desk near my bed.
It's unique, different from what I thought it was, and a good reminder that life holds many surprises.

Very Pretty White Cross. I am sure you will love having it on your desk.
Oh, I really like this Sunday post, Susan. Crocheted or not, this Cross is so pretty. I'm glad you kept it when choosing what to give away and what to keep. And your sentiments about life challenges teaching us certain things along the way is very wise. Wonderful Wonderful post, Susan.

Yes, life if filled with many surprises. Both joy and challenge can come from unexpected places and at unexpected times. Staying close to God helps to bring us through both. That's a lovely cross.
