Get Ready!

Valentine's Day is the day of love.

It is next Tuesday.

Actually, if the truth be told, every day one is alive is a day of love.

But Valentine's Day is extra special.

To me, it's pure joy to send and receive Valentine cards.

The ones shown in this post are the first received and they are so pretty!

Also, it's usually great fun to decorate the house with sparkling red hearts and cute Cupids.

However, this year, almost all the Valentine decorations are in storage as I am still in transition and looking for the next place to live.

However, I have a secret stash of foil-covered hearts.

Once unwrapped, the chocolate melts in one's mouth and provides a luscious treat.

The grandkids guess in which hand their heart is located.

Even if they guess incorrectly, they still get the chocolate heart! (So does Grammie. hee hee)

The cards are starting to come in the mail and that makes for a few exciting minutes every single day.

The grandkids also received Valentine balloons from the dollar store.

The looks of pure joy on their faces made the purchase well worthwhile.

After all, it's the little things in life that really count.

DO YOU DO ANYTHING SPECIAL TO CELEBRATE IN ADVANCE, THE DAY OF LOVE?

Oh, I love sending the vintage cards every year to the grandkids. This year I put many cards in there with stickers and hearts, so the kids could have a project to work on. Nel said that Mia got hers, and she loved it. I often think about those days when we were in school and exchanged those little Valentine cards. They were such fun days, weren't they? The chocolate hearts you give the grandkids is a special thing to do. The Dollar Store has so many wonderful holiday stuff. I just went there last night. ; )

I buy Valentines each year and they've already been mailed out. I have chocolate bars and cards ready to give to my grandsons and my sister is here so she gets some candy from Ghirardelli and a card too
