Solving the Purse Problem

Some women like big, roomy purses and others prefer very small ones.

We are all different so that is no surprise.

Even the name "purse" can be changeable.

Older women may still refer to a purse as a "pocketbook."

Whatever the name, I was able to buy a large, black purse that I love.

It holds a ton of stuff and, since I am one of the women who likes the big, bulky variety of purses, it seems perfect.

It is not.

The end of the zipper separates every time it is opened.

That means the entire contents of the purse's insides can be seen until one takes the time to fiddle around with the zipper construction.

It has to be  re-zipped  by hand on either side of the zipper which is  beyond frustrating.

Because almost everything of mine has been in storage, while trying to find an affordable place to live, I have no idea where my summer purses can be found.

So one can imagine how discouraged feelings turned to happy ones when the car trunk opened and there, amid bags, plastic containers, and more, a summer purse flashed before my eyes.

Probably made in India, the purse is very colorful and definitely one of my favorites.

Happy to reveal, the problematic purse with the persnickety zipper will soon be on the way to Goodwill for the next owner to deal with.

The pink, sparkly summer purse, tiny mirrors and all, will spend the summer with me. Yippah!

Nice, colorful purse. I have tons but rarely use them since mostly I carry totebags. Easy to throw stuff in and good when shopping to fill rather than getting plastic bags.

Love your summer purse. I only have two pocketbooks....a black one in the winter months and then as soon as June gets here I pull out my white purse. Simple.....I've not bought a new one in years.

I like that colorful purse. Easy remedy for the black purse. Afetr you zip it, sew a stitch across the end of the zipper where it separates, repeat over the same stitch a few times to strengthen. Then the zipper pull won't go past your stitch and unzip.

Was at a bridal shower once where the game was to see whose purse/pocket book weighed the most. I came in second. LOL

That's a cute purse, Susan. I know what you mean about purses. I love to see big purses (the girls have them and put all their goodies inside), but I myself just like small purses cause I don't have much to put in there. I actually sometimes don't use a purse and carry around my wallet to shops and such. I'm glad you found your purses in the plastic bins. And your black purse will be appreciate by someone who is in need of a purse. I have been looking for a cute travel tote, and haven't found any that I like, so still searching. What a delightful post about purses today, Susan.
