While preparing donations for charity, thoughts of gratitude come into mind.
When I stop to think of all there is to be grateful for, my heart fills with immense love.
Hot showers and soft towels, a comfy and cozy apartment, enough food for three meals a day, my own adult children and their spouses who I love immensely, grandchildren here and far away who occupy my mind and prayers all the time, a couch given to me by a beloved niece, a bed I was able to buy after renting the apartment, a living room rug I love, and on and on.
It is utterly amazing how much there is to be grateful for.In this week between the end of Christmas and the coming of New Year's, it is time to make a concerted effort to eliminate many items that are causing clutter in a small space.
It's also time to fill my mind and heart with gratitude for so many blessings in my life that it would be impossible to count all of them.
It's time to think about the new year ahead and maybe even ponder what changes one wants to make in order to make life better.
At the very top of the list is being deeply grateful for my late parents' greatest gift to me------my faith.
Without it, I would have been totally lost throughout life.
Readers of this blog also are close to the top of my gratitude list.
Perhaps this blog would have been given up long ago if it had not been for faithful readers who read what is written here.
So, on this quiet and introspective day, gratitude is my companion and guide.
May each of you, also, have a peaceful and loving day and may gratitude fill your heart and spill over.

Such wonderful words spoken here today, Susan. A truly special blog post of gratitude for all the blessings you have. I am also thankful for so many things.....some of them are similar to the ones you listed. I really like your lady with the red bird. And I'm so glad you found a nice and cozy place to call your home that you love and appreciate.
Happy New Year to my dear friend. I hope the new year is a good one for you and me. ; )
