One way to have fun during cold and gray winter is to occasionally entertain.
There is something extremely pleasing, even therapeutic, about planning a luncheon or dinner for friends and family members.
The planning that goes into having a luncheon for guests is a big part of entertaining. It's fun to choose what to serve, buy ingredients, and make everything as tasty as possible.
Shrimp with cocktail sauce, always delicious, came first.
Then there were bacon, lettuce, and tomato sandwiches on sourdough bread.
Everyone drank hot red raspberry tea.
New York cheesecake and heart-shaped cookies with red jam in the middle served as dessert.
Everything looked nice on Old Country Roses dishes and cups.
That's a totally favorite dish pattern since it's so classic and elegant.
Welcoming guests, making them feel loved and special, is one way to make any day better as well as to spread a little love.
The world needs that.

What a lovely table for three you made, Susan. Everything looks so nice, and I love the Old Country Rose dishes. I think I mentioned to you before that I have a candy dish in that pattern. It's one of the things I've never parted with. Your candles and red heart are charming. And BLT's are always delicious. The hot raspberry tea and cheesecake and cookies add an extra special touch to the meal. : )

Everything looked so nice. The sharing of hospitality through lovely meals, whether simple or elegant is always special. Friendships are a treasure we should not take for granted.
"Tea For Two and Two for Tea, Me for you and you for me" Those photos remind me of that song. You did a great job and I'm sure it was appreciated.
What a special tea! Hot raspberry tea is a favorite! Lovely china for the occasion!
