A deep cold front plus overnight snow showers welcomed the first day of spring.
About the only thing to spring was the wintry weather.
One could almost hear a collective sigh from winter weary residents.
Native New Englanders, however, know the chilly weather is March's goodbye to winter.
There may even be a few more snow storms in the coming weeks but they won't last.
Sometimes during childhood years snow came on Easter! That made it quite difficult to walk in our new shoes and Sunday outfits.
But it won't last long. Spring really will settle in and shove winter out until next November when it starts all over again.
Actually, the spring snowstorm's aftermath looked kind of pretty!

We have had similar weather glitches in these parts. I think of this late snow as lingering goodbyes to winter. The moisture will be good for the soil, the grass is hinting to turn green in sunny spots in the yard.
Happy Spring, Susan!
I'm so glad I do not live in New England...ha ha. Happy Spring
I love a snowfall, Susan, and Spring isn't quite here yet either. We had sunny days all week, but last night we got a heavy rain. California always rejoices when we get rain. That is a pretty photo of the lantern with the snow. And it looks like the snow may have got to your wicker chair and angel? My sweet angel was covered this Winter too, and I dug her out of it. ; )
Happy Spring days to you, Susan.
