For more than three years now, dozens of plastic totes filled with things from the home shared with my late husband, have been in a rental storage unit.
The monthly rent is becoming way too much and one of my 2025 goals is to empty out that unit by spring.
That means taking two or three plastic totes and/or boxes out every time the unit is visited.
A recent stop there resulted in my finding at least one Easter tote. That was pretty thrilling.
In the bottom of another plastic container, containing a variety of items, sat a tiny, four inch doll.
She wears a white hat and skirt, blue top with tiny flowers on the front, and has darling blondish/reddish braids tied with red ribbons.
At the tips of her bitsy feet are removable black shoes. She is so adorable.
She sat on a table near me while I prepared this post when something a little creepy transpired.
The doll's very small eyes seemed to move. At first, her gaze was directly toward me.
When I looked again, her eyes seemed to have moved to the left, and then, a few minutes later, back to front and center.
Uhhhhh, I realize she's been sitting alone on the bottom of a box for the past several years but never before has this ever happened.
She's going to have her little dress washed and will be a keeper, but just not on the table near my bed.

Is this your Polish doll? I have one very similar to her. I have about four of these dolls for all my heritages. I'm glad you found your Easter tub! That will be nice when you don't have to pay for storage every month. You're doing a great job sorting out, clearing, and organizing, Susan. It's not an easy process, but you're doing good.

Little by little you will clean out your storage unit and save things you like and discard the rest. It will take some time but you've made a good start. As to the doll and her eyes I must say you have quite an imagination, Ha ha
Her eyes move!
She’s a pretty little doll but that would do it for me, with the eyes. 👀
I know you will accomplish this task even though these kind of things can be overwhelming...I have two (grown) grandkids that are so scared of dolls. The eyes on the dolls are eerie they say. LOL.
