A New Home for the ZZ Plant

A few months ago, around Mother's Day, the Zamioculcas plant, a perennial, became known to me for the first time.

It is also referred to as the ZZ plant.

What attracted me to the plant was that I read to keep it by the front door of one's home since it would absorb the negative energy of anyone entering.

I realize that could be folklore or superstition but why not give it a shot?

The plant is very tolerant of all conditions and has been good company these past months. (Not much of a conversationalist though.ha ha)

Recently, it looked like ZZ needed a bigger container.

After a search in a few stores, one that is pink and a very light beige came home with me.

Then, I needed stones to put in the bottom of the container and more potting soil than I had.

My son-in-law came to the rescue and not only brought potting soil, he transplanted ZZ!

So now ZZ is very happy in her roomier home and so am I.

Could that be part of  ZZ's  positive influence?

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE HOUSEPLANT?

  1. I have a house plant that was given to me by a dear friend who has now passed away . Since I do not have a green thumb I'm very happy to say I've had it for six years and it is still alive. I have no idea what it is. Glad to hear your zz plant is thriving in it's new container. Pretty.
