Mother Nature's Finery

The weekend tended to be crammed with activities both on Saturday and Sunday.

So today it was "stay put" day and attempt to create some order around the apartment, along with things like washing bathroom rugs, getting caught up on written correspondence, and so on.

While at a luncheon on Sunday, outdoors on the patio of a sister's lovely cottage, I looked around and found some of Mother Nature's finery in nearby gargantuan trees.

Oh my goodness, those trees must be more than 200 years old. They go so far up into the sky that it's almost unbelievable.

Birds perching in those upper branches sure have a view of the world the rest of us don't have.

Guess that's where the term "a bird's eye view" of a situation originated.

The trees are so majestic.

It was fun even leaning back in my patio rocking chair and looking up!

Another sister made goulash that we ate from little bowls as well as fruits and icy drinks.

My heart felt filled to the brim with gratitude for everything, including the  trees!

The majestic trees. They are something, aren't they? They provide so many good things for us, shelter from the harsh stormy weather, shade from the heat, a place to sit and pray, think, and just be for a while. I can only imagine all the stories that the tree has heard from people who were once standing beneath it. Those 200 year-old trees are grand.

Have a lovely week, my dear Susan.
