Around Mother's Day this year, I had the happy good fortune of finding Zamioculcas, or ZZ plants, in a big box store.
Their price was under $20 each so I bought three to give as gifts and one for myself.
Throughout the summer, this dark leafed beauty kept growing and growing and growing.
I kept it inside as a houseplant.
Reading online about the ZZ plant, was quite fascinating.
It comes from Africa. One report noted it could absorb negative energy of anyone entering one's house.
(I couldn't get it into my apartment fast enough! ha ha)
Well, ZZ really grew a lot and I feared she was getting too big for the container she came in.
So she has been placed in a bigger planter with fresh potting soil.
ZZ is doing great and sprouting new leafed stalks.
Recently, I also read ZZ plants symbolize prosperity!
Can't wait to see if that is true.
DO YOU HAVE ANY EXPERIENCE WITH ZZ PLANTS?

Never heard of them. I went to my local Home Depot store in the garden dept. and they never heard of them either, so I do not have one. Glad yours is growing nicely. Let us know if any negativity has crossed your doorstep yet.
Mine has really grown this summer. Such a neat plant that requires little attention. How nice that you found them and make purchases to use as gifts.
That's pretty and looks like low maintenance. I can't have certain plants like the ZZ plant because they're toxic to cats. Both of mine like to chew on stuff, especially greens. I got them off the street as strays and had to get rid of my elephant ear bulb plants to accommodate them.
