Time Is Ticking By

Time goes by very quickly.

It seems that just yesterday, most of my time was spent tending to our two little kids, a son and a daughter.

We went to every free event within a 25 mile radius, attended "Parents and Twos" together programs at the local library, listened to music, read untold numbers of books over and over again, made thousands of freshly baked cookies, baked and decorated gingerbread houses at Christmas time, and on and on.

Now, those little kids are all grown up and living their own lives with their own little ones.

Suddenly, there are now grandchildren who brighten and lighten life with their hugs and laughter.

Others are seen via computer because they live in another state but seeing their faces makes my heart jump for pure joy.

Yes, time marches on, whether we want it to or not.

Treasure every second given to you.

Accept those hugs, sing those songs, and plan for Thanksgiving and Christmas get togethers.

Life is to be cherished, celebrated, and loved to the max.

You're right. Holidays are meant to be times of charity and getting along, too bad they have devolved into a commercialized free for all befitting the Roman empire. Social media has made it worse, with lifestyle bloggers doing free advertising for their lord and savior, Amazon. Less is more, with an emphasis on happy interactions and less pricey "stuff"

So true Susan.. We need to be cautious as to where we spend quality time. Family is so important and there are memories to be cherished.

Our time as parents with little children is long over. Now we are gathering with grandchildren who are also growing up faster than a speeding bullet. I love having get togethers and visits from my family. I was so lucky to see family members who live across country from me this past month. Cherished moments.

Time spent with family is truly special. Yes, time does go by quickly, and I so remember all the things I did with my little ones when they were little, as I was by their side every minute of the day raising them. We had many fun and cherished moments. And I'm pleased they have those same moments and carry on the traditions with their own kids. It's the cycle of life. Have a blessed weekend, Susan.

**Yes, my calendar is a Mary Engelbreit. I get them every year because they are full of color. : )

OMG, this is giving such a sweet, nostalgic, and totally beautiful perspective. Seriously, the way you transitioned from the days of "Parents and Twos" and thousands of freshly baked cookies to now having grandkids lighting up your life is just so lovely.
