Several years ago, there was a great yard sale at a very large, Victorian house.
Several large potted plants were for sale, including a variety of trees.
While all were artificial, they looked incredibly real.Prices were very reasonable, considering these sell in stores for more than $100 each.
I purchased several but over the years, while moving several times since selling a house, only one tree, a kind of palm, remains.
The small apartment gets crowded quickly but so far, so good with the palm tree. It has remained.
Early evenings, in order to allow cooler air to come in, the partially screened door is left open.
I place the tree in front of it to make looking in a bit more difficult.
Two strings of white lights have also been added.
The compulsive person inside of my head says to buy a couple more strands and twirl them around the tree branches. Maybe that will be done, for summer!
In the meantime, the palm tree gets moved around the room at whim.
It's not too heavy, nor is the Indonesian basket purchased with the palm in mind, and in which it sits.
It's a nice addition to a small space and makes me happy.
