Dining on an Outside Patio

For some people, (including me), going out to dinner is one of life's pleasures.

These days, however, it's also very expensive and sometimes not worth the hole in our budget.

Recently, a friend and I had dinner on an outside patio of a restaurant.

It was quite lovely to feel the fresh air and watch the flames dancing in the fire pit.

The food was okay but not great and certainly not worth the prices we paid.

However, the nearby flowers were gorgeous and worth looking at, especially considering they were better than the food!

DO YOU LIKE GOING OUT TO EAT? WHICH IS YOUR FAVORITE MEAL---BREAKFAST, LUNCH, OR DINNER?

Yes Susan I do enjoy going out occasionally to eat...especially love Spaghetti (which hubby doesn't like - so don't make it at home). Those flowers are certainly beautiful. Take care and have a great weekend. Hugs!

Going out is seldom a "break even" proposition. This week I got 2 full racks of baby back ribs and cooked them up on the pellet smoker. We got three meals out of that, and the ribs cost $15. Much better bang for the buck.

This place looks so inviting. I love going out to eat. I love Denny's breakfasts, and Chinese buffet for lunch. Have a nice weekend.

I love dining outside on beautiful patios! Tonight we'll be dining out on a boat at the lake. Very romantic!

I completely agree with you. Going out to dinner used to feel like such a fun, routine treat, but lately, the prices have gotten so out of hand that it really makes you think twice. There is nothing worse than getting a hefty bill at the end of the night and realizing you could have made something tastier at home for a fraction of the cost!

But honestly, that patio setting with the fresh air and the dancing flames is absolutely magical. Sometimes a beautiful atmosphere and great company can save the night, even if the kitchen fell a bit short. And those flowers being better than the food made me chuckle at least you had some gorgeous eye candy to go with your meal!

To answer your question, I absolutely love going out to eat, but for me, breakfast or a long, lazy weekend brunch is my absolute favorite. There is just something so relaxing about starting the day with a hot cup of coffee someone else poured and a big plate of eggs benedict or pancakes, without the evening rush or the heavy dinner prices. Plus, you still have the whole day ahead of you!

Well the atmosphere made up for the food. Looks lovely. I love Chinese food when I go out for dinner and French dip and onion soup for lunch. I do not eat breakfast out much at all.

Yes, I love going out to eat, but there are only a few local places around here. Sometimes when I get together with two friends from my hometown, we go to a restaurant with dining outside, and it's nice. They put the heaters on when it's cold. I like the fire pit at this restaurant. But I know what you mean....when we're on a budget, we look back and think, "was it worth it?" When the food is delicious, it is worth it, but when it isn't, that's a different story. But you got to see the pretty flowers and had a nice visit with a friend. ; )

The patio where you had your meal looks lovely. Yes restaurants are pricey. I have lunch with friends or adult children about two times a month, it is good for the soul to have a change of scene. Once a week I meet a friend for coffee, another nice treat.
