Summer's edible treats are so numerous, they are almost unending.
Farmers' markets abound with yummy treats like delicious berries, fresh corn-on-the-cob, cucumbers destined for salads, squash, big, fat tomatoes to die for, and on and on.
Seafood lovers can swoon over lobster rolls where the buttery lobster pieces are piled high into soft rolls. Mmm mmm mmm
But let's not forget that for some people, (myself included), the best dessert treat of summer is namely, ice cream.
Ever since early childhood days, this treat has been a favorite.
It doesn't matter what flavor the ice cream is because almost all of them are loved.
Super duper ice cream dishes, served in fancy restaurants, are definitely delicious but to true ice cream lovers, a simple dish of creamy vanilla is just as satisfying.
Ice cream is tempting in every season but especially when hot temps are here in summer.
It cools one off and tastes so refreshing until every single smidge in a dish is gone.
Remember to treat yourself this summer with a dish ( or two, or three, or more) of your favorite ice cream.

Good morning Susan... While my family loves ice cream and especially homemade ice cream, I do not care for any kind of the creamy stuff.. I know, very weird. I remember loving the homemade ice cream that my dad would make (when I was younger) but now days, ice cream and chocolate are not for me. Crazy isn't it? Enjoy this very warm day....in the low 100's here today.
I'm more of an ice cream sandwich kind of gal, although I do love ice cream too. My favs are pistachio, rocky road, and mint chocolate chip. There's a lot of yummy flavors on here today, and the one with caramel caught my eye. Enjoy your summer ice cream, Susan, and I noticed the Pioneer Woman cup you served it in, so delightful. : )
My favorite flavor is maple walnut, but I cannot find it where I live so next on my list is mint chip. I never buy ice cream but since it's been so hot I did buy some this week. Tastes great in this hot summer weather. Love all you ice cream photos.
I served the boys choclate ice cream sodas, (Pepsi and Chocolate milk with a scoop of ice cream.)They loved it and were amazed when I popped in toaster waffles in the evening and placed a slab of ice cream between two. They said, "This is the olny dessert we will ever want again." LOL
I also really like ice cream, my favorite flavors are plain chocolate, vanilla and strawberry, I've been eating it since childhood, every summer when we were at the seaside, my sister and I would go for a walk on the Adriatic coast every evening and we would always go to the ice cream parlor for ice cream. Now I don't go to the seaside anymore so I eat ice cream from the store, it's not bad, but fresh ice cream from the ice cream parlor was still much better. and I have wonderful memories of the summer...
