My sister and I relaxed in the living room one night this week.
Lights from the Christmas tree as well as lights along the greens of the mantel bathed the entire room in a pink and white glow.
When I glanced under the tree, I got quite a surprise.
Honey Cat looked out from the gauzy cloth with the pink sparkles!
Honey has been very sick lately and my greatest fear is that her life is ebbing to its end.
She's 20 years old now and has some big health issues going on.
(Of course when I told her she was going to have her photo taken, she moved and showed me her back end. ha! What a fresh girl she can be.)
For a few brief moments this Christmas, she was the star and looked like a little diva on the sparkly pink cloth.
I couldn't help but wonder if this will be her last Christmas and when those thoughts filtered through my mind, the tree blurred with tears. Our pets zoom their way into our hearts and become like children to us, don't you think?
