Return of the Animals...

Collections come and go but some stay with us forever.

One of my favorites is a wooden animal collection that is now more than 30 years old.

This is not a huge, out-of-control collection.

It's a fairly small, quaint, manageable one.

There are just eight animals and two guardsmen!

I love the tall necked giraffes and the graceful gazelles, the fierce-looking lion, the rhino, and the trio of elephants!

They are all so dear to me.

They traveled cross-country with us when we lived in Arizona for more than a decade and moved back with us when we returned to the east.

Below is a fellow I call "Ol' Smiley."

Sometimes the animals spend time in a box in the attic----until I "discover" them again and bring them downstairs.

Once again, they are marching on the fireplace mantel for awhile.

Just seeing the wooden animals from Kenya, Africa, makes me happy.

Other posts written about them can be read here and here, if you are interested.

WHAT, IF ANY, IS ONE OF YOUR FAVORITE COLLECTIONS?
