Avocados and an Angel

A frequent little visitor to our house happens to love avocados.

After discarding numerous pits, we decided we should plant a few!

I found some potting soil.  

My little friend and I put them into the rich, dark earth, covered them up with it, and then gave them a good drink.

From time to time during the next several weeks, we'd water them, and left them in a room where they got lots of sunlight.

When green sprouts shot up through the dirt, we both squealed in delight.

Today, a three foot avocado plant grows in a container on the kitchen counter.

This little angel, with the sweet smile, guards the two outside!  

Maybe we'll grow an avocado orchard!
