One of the best parts of spring in New England is listening to the birds in the morning and all through the day.

Their sweet songs make memories of snowstorms and freezing temps disappear.
A bright red cardinal took some nice sips from the bird bath the other day while another feathered friend dipped into the bath for a cool reprieve. The black bird seen below is made out of iron, however.
Several birds swoop onto the sides of the fountain for water, too. I love to see them both there and in their wrought iron bird bath.
Tiny little chipmunks, the cutest little things ever, also scavenge for dropped seeds.
One fellow who was not particularly welcome was spotted in my car headlights when I swung into the driveway.
I noticed the trash can at the far end of the driveway was tipped over. Glory be, wouldn't you know that the biggest, fattest raccoon of my lifetime limbered out from inside the can.
Needless to say, there was no putting the trash can back in order that night.
WHAT WILDLIFE DO YOU SEE IN YOUR AREA?
