Remember my friend Jana, from Georgia?
We ran a post on her gorgeous Ashton-Drake Christmas dolls a few days ago.
Here's another post she wrote for readers of Writing Straight from the Heart.
The photos are hers, too!
Thanks so much, Jana. Great job!

Last
Christmas the was the first year this tree came into our home.
I had
been watching the presentations of the beautiful flocked trees on
television and got it into my head that I had to have one.
The only problem was that I wasn't going to pay the asking price for those I had seen.
Then one day advertised in a store circular was THE tree.
It was manageable, 7 feet tall, and the flocking wasn't excessive.

I wanted
something with an icy look and chose aqua, silver mercury glass and
clear ornaments to achieve the look.
There are also picks which look like icicles and silver netting.
But this year some feathered friends are nesting in the tree and under the branches.
I saw a lot of owls being used in Christmas themes and decided to go for it.
I found some
small ones to hang on the branches and larger ones to nest in the tree.
Most have real feathers and others are mercury glass.
I also found some bird ornaments on clips to use on the tips of the branches.

The
tree itself is sitting on a coffee table in front of the window with an
aqua and damask tree skirt which I made to pick up the colors in the
tree.
I think I'll continue to use the birdies!
WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE THING ABOUT THIS LOVELY TREE?
