Visit to a Restored Theatre

It's always a treat to go to special concerts and plays.

Whenever we attend cultural events, it expands our minds and adds to the excitement and pure joy of being alive, right?

Whenever I have the chance to travel to the Colonial Theatre in western Massachusetts, the experience is always enjoyable.

The photo below is of part of the magnificent ceiling!

The  theatre was originally built in 1903 and had many famous people grace its stage in the early years of its operation.

It eventually closed down and tragically fell into a state of terrible disrepair.

This is the underside of one of the restored balconies, looking up from my seat:

The theatre underwent a major renovation just a few years ago and reopened.

From the dust and crumbled insides, it has been turned into a amazing and exquisite showplace.

Today, the Colonial Theatre is, once again, a shining jewel of a place.

Whenever we go there, it's great to just sit and look up and around. (And, of course, snap photos.)

The balconies, dozens of angel figures and other art work astound.

Recently, we went to the theatre and the photos shown in this post were snapped before the show began.

DO YOU HAVE A FAVORITE THEATRE YOU VISIT?
