This past weekend, I had to zip into Michael's Crafts Store to pick up some Sculpey modeling clay, used for my miniatures hobby.
Heading down one of those fascinating, packed-to-the-gills aisles, a colorful little hen just about clucked at me from one of the shelves.
"Bawk bawk bawk," she seemed to say. "Look at MEEEEEEEE. I'd be so cute on a spring tablescape.
Now I don't know about you, but I have to make trips to Michael's very quick affairs because my eyes land on a couple hundred items in just a few minutes time.
I whizzed past the little hen but quickly backed up. She was truly an adorable and full-of-color creature.
My initial thought was she was made in Portugal or some other exotic country but her label clearly indicated China.
She made me smile. I bid her adieu, found the Sculpey and prepared to go to the cash register.
Uh oh. Once again, I was in the same aisle as the little hen.
Can you believe that as I passed her, my left hand grabbed her by the colorful tail and whisked her into my shopping cart?
It happened in a split second.
I was so happy she was 50 percent off so she cost just a little more than $4.00.
Sunday morning I had a breakfast for some guests and the little hen/chicken took a bow, right in the middle of the table.
We are coming to the "tail end" of this story so here's a shot of the little hen's colorful tail:
Happy Monday, everyone!
