Art, Restaurants, and More

Seeing new places or revisiting towns not seen for decades gives a person a new perspective.

Everyone needs a change of scene once in awhile. 

During a day trip to the New England village of Shelburne Falls, Massachusetts, we encountered a great artists cooperative, the Shelburne Arts Co-op, saw the location of a walking bridge that is covered with flowers in spring,  looked over at the majestic Salmon Falls, and had a delightful lunch at McCusker's Market.

This is a very unique place to visit. Even a fire hydrant catches one's attention, painted in several colors, including fire engine red!

This quaint little New England village is known for its Bridge of Flowers. However, that attraction is not quite ready for tourists. It's adjacent to this bridge which leads to a street lined with shops:

In the  arts co-op, one can find an amazing array of work by more than 70 area artists. Picturesque note cards of area towns, farmsteads, and pastures; colorful scarves and shawls; gorgeous glass pieces; jewelry; photography, pottery, weaving, paintings; and more are all on display. It's an eye-popping scene, filled with every imaginable kind of artistic creation.

At McCusker's Market,  a Franklin Community Cooperative, located in a very old, historic building, I had lazy man's stuffed cabbage for lunch----a hamburger dish with pieces of cabbage in a tasty tomato sauce.

It came with a side of salad. I also picked up a small bag of chips instead of bread, mainly because I liked the name:
