Grateful for Books

Books add to the sheer enjoyment of life.


Since childhood, books have played a very special place in my life.


Weekly trips to the library  as a small child set the stage for a life long love of reading.  


It's thanks to my late Mom that I learned to love reading as a small child.


Truly, what would life be like without books?  They are constant companions.  


The table near my bed is stacked with books. Some are re-reads many times over. There's the Bible, of course, and then there are some newly acquired ones.


Any time I see a used book sale coming up, my heart races just a little faster.


There is no telling how many book cases this house holds, in addition to a library spanning the length of two living room walls, from floor to ceiling.

It's imperative that I go through each shelf this coming week and weed out.

"Why?" you might ask.  Well, because a major book sale is coming up this month and room must be made for new acquisitions.

I cannot help but think how blessed we are to have books as well as the ability to read them.

I really do like to think on how wonderful books are and how grateful I am to be able to read, enjoy and love them!
