Happy Birthday, America

Happy Birthday to the USA!

This is usually a happy day from start to finish.

My father and mother always took their five kids to the parade when I was a little girl.

The years my Dad bought us balloons were extremely exciting! I imagine he had spending money those years!

Today, 2023, many decades later, there is still a parade and several family members are attending.

I am hoping rain will stay in the clouds until the parade ends!

Happy Birthday, America!

Today is Independence Day in the USA!

It's a day to think of  all the brave men and women who fought so hard to keep this beautiful country free.

Many lost their lives in battle, never to return to their families.

In their memories, this day is celebrated.

There will be parades, barbecues and celebrating but please pause to remember those who sacrificed so completely for this country.

None of us can afford to let that freedom end so we must do our part to guard Democracy. 

It is precious and, in these perilous times, it can slip away if we are not vigilant.
