Mirror, Mirror, On The Wall

Just the other day, in a YouTube video, the subject came up of mirrors in one's home decor.

It cautioned to use them sparingly because visitors often feel uncomfortable when seeing many mirrors in someone's place.

It's okay if you disagree with that.

I certainly do, because to me, mirrors are classy and bring in light.

Even in a small apartment, mirrors can make a big difference.

The one seen at the top of this post was advertised for $15 on Facebook Marketplace.

It took a bit of a ride to get to it, but it was worth it.

It perks up the wall behind my reclining chair.

I love it.

Mirror, Mirror, On The Wall...

Mirrors can be huge assets in decorating.

They bring in light and that's a very important job when a person lives in an apartment that doesn't get much sunshine.

Mirrors come in all different styles and sizes.

This one showed up on an online selling site. It cost only $15 and it's very cute.

The lovely oval mirror shown at the top of this post was given to me by a dear friend many years ago.  It hangs in the bedroom.

This three way mirror came from a Goodwill Store in Vermont, right over the Massachusetts border.

Love the light being reflected three times.

A dresser mirror is a nice shape and is quite large.

This living room mirror shares a space with a flat screen tv. It is a Rococo mirror, purchased for $30 at an estate sale.

Last but not least, the very plain bathroom medicine cabinet mirror
doesn't make my heart beat faster.

However, its inside is great. There's even a mirror on the entire back of the outside mirror's door.

Lots of mirrors help open up any home in which they are placed.

Look for them at estate sales and even some yard sales.

Mirror, Mirror, But Not on a Wall

Sometimes, when seeing something we consider stunning, it makes a big impression.

Such was the case inside a Goodwill thrift store in Vermont.

There, in the furniture section, was a three-way mirror-----the back and two sides, all attached.

It was very heavy and folded together for transport.

The price tag said $15.

I bought it.

It has come with me during three moves in the past three years.

Today it rests on a small dresser that has also survived quite a few new homes, including one in Arizona for 12 years!

The pink and gold piece of cloth underneath the old-fashioned lamp came from Italy.

My daughter gifted it to me on one of her trips there.

Some decorating items are here to stay!

Old-Fashioned Mirror

Okay, here comes a strange fact.

When visiting a restaurant, I like to check out the condition and decoration of the ladies' room.

If it's neat and in good order, clean and decorated, that's a good sign the restaurant will be good, too.

Does that make any sense to you?

Anyway, while recently at the Bryant House Restaurant next to the Vermont Country Store in Weston, Vermont, I snapped the  photos shown in today's post.

The ladies room of the restaurant has a really beautiful mirror with a very interesting "angel" at the top of the mirror above who is looking down while you wash your hands!

We had been to the Bryant House in the past and you can read about the upstairs Victorian bedroom furniture here.
