New Week, New Day

There is no sun out today. It must be hidden behind a cloud somewhere.

But that's okay.  Since it's a new week that is here, it's an opportunity to get lots of things done and be happy to be alive.

Each day, I try to do something fun, something that makes me happy.

This past weekend, cleaning efforts began in the "new to me" antique dollhouse.

My daughter bought it for me for my September birthday. She also sold my old "falling apart" pink Victorian house.

This house is yellow on the outside with black shutters.

It was built sometime in the 1970s and is still quite lovely.

One of the best aspects of it is that it is electrified and has some totally adorable lamps.

A lot of the furniture that was inside the house has now been washed, dried, and put back inside.

There will be more shown of this special project as the weeks go on since local grandchildren are going to decorate it for Christmas.

So, if dollhouses and miniatures interest you at all, stay tuned.

New Day, New Thoughts

Every day we get to wake up is a gift.

While it's easy to repeat the same thoughts and same behaviors each day we live, it's refreshing and challenging to change a little.

Instead of doing everything the same, try something a little different.

Personally, instead of worrying and fretting over all there is to be done in the settling after moving process, it's good to just think of all there is to be thankful for each day.

When all the things to be grateful for flash through the mind, the result is very thrilling.

May you have a great day today and, if you choose and want to, try doing something a little different than usual and think of the many blessings and unexpected gifts you have received throughout the years.

It may just give you a new lease on life.

New Day, New Week, New Month

Today is a new day in a brand new week and month!

Taking down Halloween decor will be among the many chores to be completed.

The air feels a bit nippy but at least it's not raining.

Here is hoping that your day will be blessed and fulfilling.

Thank you so much for reading this blog!

WHAT WOULD YOU LIKE TO ACCOMPLISH THIS WEEK?

New Day, New Week, Old Virus

The sun is shining!

The temps are warmer!

It's a new day!

It's a new week!

It's still the same old virus, causing havoc in our world.

Don't you just wish it would go AWAY? That things would be back to normal?

If they were, I'd go grocery shopping today and maybe stop in a thrift store to browse around.

Or maybe I would go and buy some little gifties for the grands for Easter.

Well, wishful thinking isn't going to make any of those things happen so instead, I'll be grateful for coffee, breakfast, and a new "to do" around the house list.

So grateful for a washing machine and drier to do clothes and for half-and-half to put in my morning coffee.

We've got to be thankful for little things, right?

Speaking of little things to be grateful for, the plants in my home office, where I spent a lot of time this past weekend, are doing great. They are shown in this post.

I love the blue bulb that provides water when I'm not in there.

WHAT ARE A COUPLE OF LITTLE THINGS YOU ARE THANKFUL FOR TODAY?

New Day, New Week, and Bye Bye Witches

The sun is shining brightly and the temps are chilly.

This is a new week.

All Halloween decor is ready to be hauled up to the attic to be packed away until next year.

The little ghosts, witchies, and scarecrows will be missed but replaced.

This is going to be a busy week around these parts with a house guest coming, a double birthday party, some child care, baking, cleaning (yuck), cooking, and continuing to tackle a very long fall "to do" list.

Below, you will see a photo of the gypsy who opened the door to this year's trick-or-treaters:
