Hand painted crafts are so much more beautiful than those that are mass produced.
My late Mom loved them, too, especially if they were made by one of her daughters.
Well, one of my sisters is an artist and she painted two white plates for Mom.
The plates had little openings all along their borders and my sister threaded green ribbon through them.
(They currently need spiffing up after all these years.)
She covered them with luscious pink roses.
They were among my Mom's favorite things and she displayed them happily on her bedroom wall.
We sometimes tire of particular decorative items in our homes and have no problem popping them into a Goodwill or Salvation Army bag, right?
We can let go of them with no questions asked.
Not true for the little hand-painted rose plates.
They now hang in the master bedroom.
Each day when I glance at them, I smile, because they make me think of Mummy.
WHAT'S ONE THING THAT BELONGED TO YOUR OWN MOTHER THAT YOU CHERISH?
