Memorial Day

Today, Memorial Day, Americans remember the brave men and women who lost their lives in the fight for freedom.

That sweet gift of being free, which Americans have, came with terrible costs.

When I think of all the thousands of lives that were lost during times of war, it fills me with
overwhelming sadness.

It's just hard to imagine the pain parents must feel when they lose a "child" who chose to serve the country in a branch of the Armed Services and then was killed.

Or who left to fight on foreign soil and came back maimed-----blind, missing arms or legs, or even psychologically damaged.

Amid picnics and a day off from routine activities today, think of why Memorial Day is celebrated.

Today, when seeing American flags waving in the breeze, think of all those who have fallen.

They are not forgotten.

WHAT, IF ANY, ARE YOUR PLANS FOR MEMORIAL DAY?
