Today, it is dark gray outside and rainy.
It's a good day for staying home, if possible.
Luckily, the photos in this post were taken on a bright and sunny day!
Fall is not quite in full swing here in western Massachusetts but there are signs of it everywhere.
In the early morning, the air is very cool and refreshing.
Some of the trees have started changing the color of their leaves.
There are mostly yellows at this time but the sizzling reds and oranges are coming.
The sun is going down earlier and by 7:15 p.m., it's dark outside. Boooo hoooo This is one of the changes I truly dislike.
Otherwise, each moment of autumn is a celebration.
It is truly a gift to be alive.
WHAT IS YOUR ABSOLUTE NUMBER ONE THING TO LOVE ABOUT AUTUMN?
Signs of autumn abound these days.
Soon Halloween and the army of little trick or treaters will be here.
We are ready for them. I bought the candy treats this week.
At an orchard recently, I selected one of several different kinds of apples to munch on.
The lighted pumpkins have come down from the attic for a few days.
The front porch lantern is adorned with faux leaves and a pumpkin "hat."
Happy witches and other creatures are doing their decorating best.
Even the evening temps dipped a bit so autumn feels like it's truly here.
Tomorrow, summer temps might return but for now, it's just time to enjoy each moment, whatever comes.
WHAT ARE SOME FAVORITE SIGNS OF AUTUMN FOR YOU?
Once again, Americans weep because of a violent act.
This time it was a mass shooting in Las Vegas.
The wanton disregard for human life makes the heart ache.
The stupidity of guns and the destruction and terror they inflict on innocent people is shocking.
Reading the news of the mass shooting was a horrible way to start a new day, new week, and new month.
Pray for the victims and their sorrow-filled families and friends.
I also pray that the rest of us can carry on and live this day of life to the best of our abilities.
Here is today's blog post:
Birds are still twittering around the feeder in the back yard.
Bushy tailed squirrels are pecking at the seeds that have fallen to the ground.
Nothing goes to waste in Mother Nature's world.
Flowers are still blooming and temps are a distinctly cooler.
One can order maple pecan iced coffees at one drive through establishment.
It's also time to bake pumpkin bread and muffins, sip spiced cider, and experience pumpkin "everything."
The flavors, sights and scents of autumn satisfy.
Truly, autumn's my favorite season of all.
