Lacy Pink Dresses Are Perfect for Spring

At Christmas time and for Valentine's Day, some of the dolls that wear red velvet come down from the second floor to the Guatemalan hutch in the dining room.

Their deep red outfits, some trimmed with fur, are perfect for the chilly weather outside.

Come springtime, however, the red velvet has to go.

Some of the dolls get a change of outfit.

Others are brought upstairs and replaced with the girls who wear lacy spring dresses.

Most are in pink or pale yellow.

Some people dislike dolls, period.

I'm not one of them.  I love dolls.

The frillier their outfits, the better!

There are a couple of old-fashioned looking dolls in my collection that are quite gorgeous.

They wear long, frilly dresses and matching hats.

They were purchased at a flea market in Tucson, Arizona.

Dolls, in general, are reminiscent of my childhood and make me happy.

As a child, I had a hodge-podge collection of dolls that numbered more than two dozen.

The strange thing was, even if a dolly lost a leg, arm, or, in  one case, her head, I kept it anyway!

I remember my late Dad built me a playhouse, attached to our garage, and that's where I could be found, with all  my dolls, from spring through autumn.

Each doll had to say a prayer at night, before I went into the big house, so you can imagine how long that took with more than 24 dolls! ha!   I must have been a "holy" kid.
