Cherished Cranberry Glass, Stargazer Lilies, and Candlelight

 Cranberry glass, candlelight, and stargazer lilies are three favorite things in the whole world.

The glass is pink and has molten gold in it.  

It's a deep pink color that literally cheers the heart.

 

 My late mother gifted the very first piece of cranberry glass.

 Now, decades later, a very good collection has evolved with more pieces than anyone would want to count.

 Candlelight provides a nice atmosphere and also gives off delightful scent.

Now, in the fall, a favorite fragrance to use is Village Candle's cinnamon orange.

The spicy scent permeates several rooms.

These are three little things but they have big impact in adding to the enjoyment of life.

 They bring such contentment and give good reason to sit quietly, pray, and give thanks.

Stargazer Lilies

When a few blooms can fill an entire room with fragrance, you know those flowers are winners.

Stargazer lilies do that, you know. Even when placed on a kitchen table, one can still sniff their loveliness upstairs.

Their fragrance is intensely intoxicating and in a pleasant way.

These spectacular flowers are show-stoppers. 

Even their name is heart-pounding, isn't it?  Star gazers.

Looking at deep pink stargazers, their blooms do, indeed, seem to be looking upward toward the stars.

This past weekend, when the need to do something nice for myself arose, I zipped to the supermarket in search of stargazer lilies.

A bouquet of these beauties was my reward.

So now there is a pink hyacinth and a tall, proud paper white on the kitchen , and the regal stargazers in a red vase on the kitchen table.

Startling Stargazers

Spread out the palms of your hands.

The blooms of Stargazer lilies are about as big as that!

They are so incredibly beautiful to look at as well as to smell.

As a matter of fact, the fragrance of these lilies will fill a room.

Don't you just love even the name, Stargazers?

It is so romantic-sounding.

I truly love these magnificent flowers.

There is a bouquet of them in the middle of the kitchen table. 

There are still many more to bloom! Yippah!

They are my favorites in the Oriental lily family.

ARE YOU FAMILIAR WITH STARGAZERS?

Stunning Stargazer "Stars"

One morning this week when I awoke, I looked out our  bedroom window which faces the backyard.

There's small round flower garden, planted around a young apple tree.

 Much to my delight, I saw two great big stargazer lilies. They were cream colored with pink edges.

This was a most thrilling discovery. 

Hubs planted bulbs I found at Big Lots.

Now stargazers are my Number One favorite lily.

Their fragrance is most enchanting.

As soon as I could, I ran downstairs, grabbed the scissors, ran outside and snipped two full fledged lilies and one budding one.

I placed the precious flowers in a blue bottle that once held wine.

Do you know that when I woke up yesterday morning, I could smell the fragrant aroma of the lilies all the way up on the second floor of this house?  

What a way to start the day with a smile. 

 One, two, three, inhale!  Ahhhhhh.....

Stargazer Lilies

Admittedly, I am hopelessly in love.

When I gaze upon this charmer, my heart just about jumps out of my chest.

I cannot get enough of stargazer lilies!

Their fragrance, too, enchants. 

When I found some stargazer bulbs at Big Lots, I bought three packages and gave them to my hubs as an Easter gift. 

It was a kind of selfish thing to do, right?  I mean, after all, stargazers are my faves.

But I figured once they come up after planting, he could enjoy them, too! (hee hee)

Whenever  stargazer lilies  appear at the super, I buy them. 

Nothing like buying a gift to yourself from yourself! It's good for self-esteem.

They always bring me so much sweet-smelling happiness so I consider them quite a bargain.
