Welcome to Fall!

It's always good to welcome people to one's home.

From the daily mail carrier, the newspaper delivery man, friends and family, it's nice to make people feel like they are truly welcomed.

I call all the straw people on our front porch "the kids."

They've been around for several years now.

Every fall, they come out from under plastic coverings in the attic.

They bring lots of smiles.

They join the fall-colored chrysanthemums, a trio of pumpkins and a festive rug on the brick floor!

The rug is one that's been used for a few years, too. See?  You don't have to spend lots of money buying new things if you just store the things you have and use them over and over again!

In this world, which has a lot of disappointment, sadness and  bad news, it's good to give people reasons to smile, even if in just a small way.

The "kids" do that.

BESIDES FAMILY, WHAT IS SOMETHING THAT MAKES YOU HAPPY EVERY DAY?
