One summer event that was a lot of fun took place inside Ventfort Hall, in Lenox, Massachusetts, a huge mansion and museum of the Gilded Age that's in the process of being renovated.
The event was part of the Tea and Talk series at Ventfort Hall. First come the talks, on a variety of subjects,then tea in the mansion's elegant dining room.

Volunteers prepare all the food offerings at the teas. At the one I attended, there were different kinds of sandwiches and sweets.

One of my friends, who is also a docent at the mansion, made the sweet little confections shown at the top of this post. She said they are as easy as can be to make.
She buys little meringues at the supermarket. Then, she puts Cool Whip in a plastic bag, snips off a corner, and puts swirls on top of each meringue.
Lastly, fat red raspberries go on top and then they are sprinkled with confectionery sugar.
Talk about pretty and quite tasty, too!
