Thinking Ahead to the Holidays...

A day-long mini-excursion with a friend that includes thrift store shopping and lunch at a favorite restaurant makes a nearly perfect day.

This month, a ride to a different town with a dear friend, found us at one of our favorite Goodwill thrift stores.

That was before enjoying a delicious lunch in a pub we both like very much.

These days, discernment takes over what goes into my shopping cart.

If it's something that makes me smile, it's a "go."

Same thing for something very pretty that could add to a home's ambiance or be perfect as a little gift.

The red tea light holder made the cut. It's quite exotic looking.

It already looks so pretty on a table with tea light inside.

It's meant to hang somewhere but set down directly on a table also works.

It had a green glass container with it but guess what?

While in line for the check out, the green container fell out of the side of the shopping cart and smashed all over the floor.

I was mortified but a worker soon came and swept up the shards of green glass. That one wasn't meant to be!

The plan is for the little sheep salt and pepper shakers to have their holes plugged and be added to the manger scene this Christmas.

In another post, we'll show you a couple other treasures we bought.

WHAT DOES YOUR PERFECT DAY LOOK LIKE?
