Serendipitous Sculptures Brighten the Day

The word serendipitous happily rolls off the tongue.  Even better than the sound is the word's meaning----found by surprise.

On a recent excursion, we found a sculpture garden filled with eye-catching figures made from wood, metal, and many other materials. Big  Blue, for example, shown below, has a shovel for a head, dangling keys for earrings, and, well, she's rather well endowed. She's charming and certainly one-of-a-kind, like most of Fiorini's art pieces.

We inadvertently stumbled across the creations of Tom Fiorini.  According to information posted in the sculpture garden, he is a lifelong resident of Lenox, Massachusetts. He also, according to the information posted, had and beat cancer.

Lenox, for those of you who do not know, is a quaint yet rather upscale little town in Western Massachusetts.

In the sculpture garden, there's a really big "wooden" raccoon coming down one of the trees.

Nearby, a "gigunda" bird gets ready to peck a tree trunk.

This is a very quiet dog:

HAVE YOU SEEN SCULPTURES LIKE THIS? AREN'T THEY SOMETHING?
