Every Friday, on Cindy's blog, My Romantic Home, she hosts a Show and Tell party. There are so many wonderful posts, it would be impossible to look through all of them in one day, even if one spent the entire day on the computer.
So, usually, depending on how much time is available, I like to zip through and pick out a certain number of posts to read, like maybe six, or10, etc.
I LOVE iced coffee so when I saw that Number 281's post was on how to cold-brew iced coffee, I read it. It is Darcy's blog, Smart Bottom Enterprises. This sounded just great so, of course, I decided to try it right away.
Luckily, there was some dark roast coffee in the cabinet to mix up a batch. Put it into the tall container, shown in the photo. What I am NOT showing you, is about five minutes after the photo was taken, I stirred the mixture with a butter knife. It accidentally hit against the side of the glass, from inside, and WHAM!, the knife smashed through the glass, making a hole.
The coffee mixture, with tons of coffee grounds, kind of exploded through the hole and splashed over
1) a nearby door
2) a nearby water dispenser
3) the dishwasher's front
4) the entire counter
5) the kitchen floor.
About the only thing I could do was stand there, survey the unholy mess, and burst out laughing.
Then, of course, I had to clean everything up and that took quite a spell.
When everything was back to normal, I made another batch of the coffee concentrate.
Later in the day, at the supermarket, and, along with all my groceries, I bought a container of half and half. I'm looking forward to cold-brewed iced coffee. Will let you know how my "concentrate" comes out.
