Bunny Wishes and Chicken Wire "War"

Today's post is a two part mix.

First of all, the little girl bunny pictured above and below has a smile that almost sings out "HAPPY EASTER" to each of you.

Found in a thrift shop, I fought with every fiber of my being to refrain from buying her since we already had a bunny army around here. But her sweet face did me in and I succumbed.

Every time my eyes rest on her, or when guests come, she makes us smile so she  turned out to be a very valuable purchase after all. The world needs all the smiles it can get.

A couple of weeks ago in a post, I lamented that squirrels had been digging up my daffodil and tulip bulbs and eating them for lunch. A potent three-pepper mixture---cayenne, crushed red peppers, and jalapenos--- got poured all over the small green shoots of the flowers, barely peeking out from the earth.

The next morning, to my utter dismay, two new holes had been dug. Now those squirrels are hot tamales because the pepper mixture was guaranteed to sizzle the taste buds.

As a result of the hot tamale squirrels apparently liking the pepper mixture, we have now declared "chicken wire war" on them. If they manage to dig up the bulbs through the wire holes, they won't be able to get them out. (We hope.) Sometimes you just have to do what you have to do.

HOW DO YOU KEEP CRITTERS AWAY FROM YOUR PLANTINGS?
