When it comes to decorating, old-fashioned romantic and Victorian have great appeal.
Rose-covered anything peaks my interest and our house definitely reflects my tastes. My husband takes refuge from the roses and lacy "frou frou" in his own quarters, down in the man-cave. That's his domain and the decorating down there is strictly up to him.
Can you imagine how chilly it must have been to wash-up without hot, running water in a Minnesota winter? Yikes! I'd better think of that the next time the faucet gets turned on.
Anyway, a very dear friend of mine who knows my taste in decorating better than I do, bought me a small version of a rose-covered pitcher for my September birthday. Rather than setting in a basin, it sets on an equally gorgeous rose-covered dish. It was love at first sight!
Whoever painted the roses did a great job. They look so very real. Every stroke is absolutely perfected. This is a beautiful set and could not possibly have made me happier.
Old, long-time friends are precious to begin with. When they buy presents they know one is going to absolutely love, they are even more special!
