We are also joining Diann at The Thrifty Groove for "Thrifty Things Friday." Also joining Cindy's Friday Show and Tell at My Romantic Home.
My Mom was a woman who could shop 'til she dropped. We could go into at least a dozen stores, on a hunt for a particular, say, birthday gift, and she'd never get tired. Even in her advanced years, that woman had amazing shopping stamina.
Well, guess what? A sister of mine and myself are just like Mom. We are shop-til-we-drop shoppers. My favorite, of course, is shopping the thrift stores. Not so for my sister. She likes high end department and specialty stores.
So when we go on a shopping frenzy together, we combine buying "new" with at least one "thriftie" thrown in.
Recently on a shopping excursion, I found these little raccoons in a Goodwill and just loved them. Are they the cutest little things?
Perusing the pricey but beautiful offerings in a William Sonoma store in Albany, N.Y., I bought the blue and white piece. It makes me think of being somewhere in Greece, with turquoise waters lapping at the shore. It cost $7 which, to me, is a lot for a square of fabric. It will be used under a centerpiece on the kitchen table.
DO YOU SHOP "NEW" AS WELL AS "THRIFT" STORES?
WHICH DO YOU PREFER?
